My Expected Ending

I think the ending of each story is good. My expectation has been answered. But if I were the director, I will change the "Topeng Srikandi" segment story to the bold bisexual theme. I haven't thought about the title but I think, this movie has a little story about bisexuallity. Let say that Srikandi is a married woman but then she madly falling in love with her workmate perhaps, Srikandi is a policewoman. It'll be more interested.

The Opinion of Being Inspired

Sanubari Jakarta movie inpires me to keep open minded especially for LGBT issue. We live in a big city and this hidden fact is really happend. Why we have to deny them? Why we have to treat them like we have no sin? Only God who has rights to drop His bless or curse, not us. That's my opinion.

Movie Review

Sanubari Jakarta

We found love in a hopeless place….we found love in a hopeless place…

That's a part of Rihanna's song that always on our mind. We always think to get love from someone dan when we found love there always in a hopeless place.
That's what we see on "Sanubari Jakarta" movie, Jakarta is a city full of dream or for few people call this town as a hopeless place to live and love ofcourse. I didn't say that Jakarta is hopeless city but it's not the city, it is the 10 stories of 10 directors for 110 minutes duration movie. This love story can be said as unique because it's focused on LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisex, and Transexual) issue. It reminds us that never been a movie like this before. This movie tries to open up Jakartans and also Indonesian, that minority people that still get violence and discrimination have a rights to survive in public and also open our eyes that they still have love wherever they are even in the most hopeless place.

This movie has 10 stories or segments but don't expect something like sadness or sorrowness among this movie. These are the reviews:

“1/2” Directed By Tika Pramesti
The story of a man who asked about his life choice until there's a girl named Anna between a man named Biyan and his self. That was a hard choice and from this story, we knew that man can have a risky choice and also an appropriate choice to chose this story as the opening of this omnibus movie. I love the cinematography with beach as its landscape and the twist at the end of story about who Anna really is. I love the indoor decor that replaced all furnitures with paints that looked like cupboards, kitchen set, and a papered piano. This story tried to tell us that a man has always their feminine side.

“Malam Ini Aku Cantik” Directed by Dinda Kanyadewi

This story told us about Agus's life, a shemale who makes some money from many guys and how is his feelings for being humilliated because of it. Well, there's a scene that will make us interested but feel guilty, a sexual abuse...

“Lumba-Lumba” Directed by Lola Amari

A kindegarten teacher named Adinda who always teachs to draw dolphin met a mother of her student named Anggia, their connection has turned to be a relationship. This segment has a light flow, story of a lesbian relationship but overall, this story has no climax. Just flow, straightly. Well, it isn't really str8 anyway.

“Terhubung” Directed by Alfrits John Robert

Two girls, Agatha and Kartika, didn't know each other and face different problem. Kartika's life is always being bend even in rights of choosing a lover. Agatha just broke up with a girl who is gonna be married a man by her family coercion. But in coincidencer, they are connected.

“Kentang” Directed by Aline Jusria

Drajat and Acel is a gay couple who cuddle in Drajat's room but among it, they have many trouble that makes their relationship is going to break. This story has funny lines and will make the audience laugh off loud on the floor! LOLOTF!

“Menunggu Warna” Directed by Adriyanto Kusumo Dewo

A guy who has a sweet and romantic lovelife who tries to live in perfection but at the end, the question is was that real? This is the coolest story than 9 other stories. The grayscale mode and no dialogue makes this story is cool and the smart ending adding my complimet for this story

“Pembalut” Directed by Billy Christian

This story told us about a lesbian couple Bianca and Theresa who are in a motel room. The debate about their problems, start from switched bra, period, and the crucial problem of their relationship. In one unconditinal time they both will need a sanitary napkins. The actress, Gesata Stella played 4 characters in this story. At first, I didn't notice that she did it. She acted outstanding!

“Topeng Srikandi” Directed by Kirana Larasati

A woman named Srikandi, she turned her appearance to be a man to revenge her boss who rapped her in office. Honestly, I didn't really get what the message of this story, this isn't suitable with 9 other stories about the LGBT issue. But the acting of the actress Herfiza Novianty is outstanding.

“Untuk A” Directed by Fira Sofiana

A man who writes a letter for someone named A. That letter tells about a man who struggle and chose to convert his sex and tells about his past. This segment story a little makes us feel guilty and pity about the writer's feelings of being trapped in wrong body. We've been made curious who is A really are and the ending made us said, "ooohh...I see". Nice story about transexual.

“Kotak Coklat” Directed by Sim F

A romanctic story between a man named Reuben and women named Miea. They fell in love a the first sight. Reuben found a chocolate box (kotak coklat) on Miea's workdesk dan that brings Reuben to past of their childhood. This segment story is really appropriate as an ending story of this omnibus. Ofcourse I would say that this is the most romantic story but I have guessed what will happen in the end but the cinematography helps to make this story watched beutifully.

Overall, "Sanubari Jakarta" is recommended to watch, it gives us different way to watch a drama movie, a movie that tells us about a hidden urban reality. A drama arthouse movie and straight to point in screening. Love can be felt by anyone, even they are lesbian, gay, tranny or even bisexual. It is time to devour with the minority and not to underestimate them. It is imaged that Jakarta is a big city and we often find a love in a hopeless place. I agree with that. Hidden fact, right?

Why Do I Work?

The only reason for me is I need additional income. And since my father passed away, I need to be more struggle to make some money. Money is not everything but everything needs money. Beside that, I'd like to gain more experience to adapt the rough working atmosphere and how cruel our boss is. Overall, working is fun. What will I do if I don't work? Maybe I just sit in front of tv or my blackberry, waiting for time picks me. Not serious at all. Lol

The Fundamental Difference in Money For Each Generation

Baby Boomer
Baby Boomers represent the children of our World War II veterans. They did not go through the economic hard times as their parents did. They had the good life and their parents, the Traditionalists, wanted them to have the best and as a result, the "Me" decade arrived. Boomers have value peer competition. Boomers thrive on possibilities and constant change. Boomers started the "workaholic" trend. Where Traditionalists see hard work as the right thing to do, Boomers see it as a way to get to the next level of success. Boomers are committed to climbing the ladder of success. This group embraces a team based approach to business. They do not depend on the command and control style of the Traditionalist. They were the “Hippies.” They don't need to conform to the rules and they will challenge the system. This generation will accept people who will perform to their standards. While they don't seek out problems, if you give them a cause they will fight for it.

Generation X
Generation Xers are economically conservative. They remember double-digit inflation and the stress faced by their parents dealing with times on and off unemployment. As a result, they do not rely on institutions for their long-term security like their predecessors did. Xers believe in investing in their own development rather than in their organization's. They are cautious about investing in relationships with employers because experience has shown that these relationships are not reliable. To an Xer, loyalty may mean two-weeks notice. (If you want loyalty, get a dog, may be their attitude.) Xers have clear goals and prefer managing their own time and solving their own problems rather by a supervisor. They want access to information and love plenty of it. This group needs lots of feedback and they use feedback to adapt to new situations. This generation will work hard, but they would rather find quicker more efficient ways of working so they can have more free time. They will work hard to move up the ladder, to have more personal time for themselves and family. Xers like quick “sound bites.” Email is preferred over long meetings and letters.

Generation Y
Generation Y represents people who grew up during the high-tech revolution. A world with high-tech video games, ATMs and high-speed access is what their generation is used to. Providing frequent and systematic feedback in real time (as it happens) is critical when working with members of this generation. This “cyber generation” values positive reinforcement at accelerated rates. Nexters want more input into how they are doing and want to work with a good deal of independence. Growing up during peace times, they have a very optimistic outlook on life in general. Through community and media coverage this group has grown up with more diversity than their predecessors. Generation Y is used to making and spending money. Technology is their valued tool for multi-tasking. Generation Y likes action, accepts challenges and looks for the challenge of opportunity.

The Y Generation Dominates The Workforce

The Y Generation will dominate the workforce? Well, I guess I agree with that because Gen Y has many values than Baby Boomer and Gen X. Gen Y also known as the Millennium or Net Generation. Millennials are very technology wise and are comfortable with ethnically diverse groups. They expect great workplace flexibility and are likely to change employers even more frequently than Gen X’s.
